Link Age Southwark provides friendly volunteer support for over 300 older people aged 55+ living in Dulwich and surrounding areas. We offer free help with:

  • shopping
  • gardening
  • odd jobs
  • telephone and face-to-face befriending
  • friendship groups
  • hospital visiting
  • transport help
  • a range of stimulating small group activities

If you think you might be interested in any of the above, please contact our friendly staff team as we will be pleased to discuss your needs and supply you with more information on what we can offer you.

Do you have a little time to spare for an older person? Then come and join our friendly and happy organisation as a volunteer!

We need people who

  • could take someone shopping, or could shop on their behalf
  • could do some basic gardening, e.g. weeding, mowing lawns, cutting hedges
  • could give a lift to someone attending an activity group, or an appointment
  • could help with activity and friendship groups
  • befriending – face-to-face or on the telephone

By offering an hour a week, or even a fortnight, you could make a real difference to someone! Please ring Jean Hedden, Volunteer Co-ordinator, on 020 8299 4594.

We would also like to hear from people who would be interested in helping us with fundraising, e.g. organising events etc. Perhaps you are a member of a local club or organisation that could run a charity event in aid of Dulwich Helpline!

If you would like to send a donation to enable us to continue and develop our work with older people, please send a cheque made payable to "Dulwich Helpline". If you are able to GiftAid your donation or you would like to support us with a regular Standing Order, please contact us for a Donations Form.
