Dulwich Hamlet FC Fail at the last gasp
06/05/2014  Dulwich Hamlet drew 1-1in the last game of the season against Kingstonian so failed to progress to the knockout stage to progress to the Conference. They needed to win the game, having lead the table for much of the season.

30/04/2013  Dulwich Hamlet drew 1-1 in the last game of the season to progress to the Ryman Premier League. In a tense match, they got the 1 point they needed to pip Maidstone at the post.

Ivy House Saved!
30/04/2013  The Ivy House pub on Stuart Road in Nunhead has been saved and is now the Ivy House Community Pub Ltd. It was formed out of a grass-roots campaign to ensure the survival of the Ivy House on Stuart Road, Nunhead SE15 3BE. They have acquired the freehold of the building, and are now seeking investment to enable them to get the doors open again, via a community Share Issue.

Save the Ivy House
23/10/2012  The Ivy House pub on Stuart Road in Nunhead has been closed for the last few months; this remarkable pub and music venue, recently listed by English Heritage for its architectural importance, has been sold on for redevelopment - like so many other south London pubs. The local community is actively trying to keep the pub at its heart and the Peckham Society are trying to get it nominated by Southwark Council as a 'Community Asset '.

M&S and Tesco Move In
04/07/2012  Strong rumours that both M&S and Tesco are to move into the area. M&S will allegedly be taking over the Iceland store and probably selling food; Tesco the garden centre next to E Dulwich station. Watrch this space…

Hoopers Bar Runner-Up in CAMRA Award
14/06/2012  Hooper’s Bar, a traditional Victorian style pub on the Camberwell/East Dulwich borders and situated on 28 Ivanhoe Road, SE5 8DH., has received an award as the 2012 Runner-Up Pub of the Year from the South East London branch of Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) on 6 June. Licensee Jamie Hooper (pictured on the right) received the award from branch chairman Alan Jepson. Alan said, ’Hooper’s Bar is one of the finest ale houses in the area and serves a great range of rotating independent guest ales from micro breweries, as well as real cider and perry, and an impressive menu of bottled beers from around the world. Long may it continue’. Additionally, Hooper’s is keeping the tradition of having live bands perform as well as stand up comedy nights and a weekly quiz. The pub was originally called The Ivanhoe, had been closed for some time and reopened five years ago by current owner Jamie Hooper.

Dulwich MayFest rocked by Shaker Makers
15/05/2012  The yearly Dulwich Festival day on Goose Green had the best ever turnout on the nicest day for ages. There was a vast array of goods on sale, food, drink and children's activities. The afternnon climaxed with The Shaker makers live on stage.
