The mural 'William Blake's Vision of Angels' on the wall adjacent to the children's playground (built in 1937-8) was painted in September 1993 by Stan Paskett assisted by local schoolchildren, adults with learning difficulties and other community volunteers. The mural commemorates the vision of angels that William Blake (1757-1827), the visionary poet and painter, had as a child on Peckham Rye. there he had his first vision, of 'a tree fillied with angels, bright angelic wings bespangling every bough like stars'.
