Land was acquired by the London Congregational Union in 1876 and an iron church was opened on 7 April 1877. A stone church was dedicated on 10 June 1891. The original iron chapel continued is use as a Sunday School until 1989 when it was demolished and replaced by a permanent hall. The church became a United Reformed Church in 1972 after most of the Congregational Churches in England and Wales amalgamated with the Presbyterian Church of England. the main church building was sold in 1985 and became Greystones Nursing Home.
